September 18, 2001 -
Last Tuesday was a tragic day for all Americans. On behalf of the staff members of Zortec International, our hearts go out to all family, friends, and loved ones whose lives were changed by these horrible events.

Over the past few days many customers have voiced concern over proceeding with the conference. Because of your feedback and because of the looming uncertainties related to travel and other issues, we are postponing DevCon 2001, previously scheduled for October 1 - 4. We trust that you will be in support of this decision.

Despite provisions in our contract with the hotel, they have been gracious in allowing us to reschedule without a penalty. Unfortunately, the hotel is booked throughout the remainder of the year, excluding the week of Thanksgiving and just prior to Christmas. As a result, the conference will be rescheduled for the first available dates. The dates are either February 4 - 7, 2002 or February 18 - 21, 2002. With your help, we plan on picking one of these dates before the end of this week. Please email or call and let us know which date you would prefer. If you had room reservations at the Hilton Suites, the hotel will automatically move your reservation to the corresponding dates in February.

Most airlines are being very flexible in rescheduling flights however we do suggest that you contact them as soon as possible to make the necessary changes. We regret and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your support of this change. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Otherwise, I plan on contacting each customer over the next few days to discuss the decision.
